Benji Kohan creates a comedy about siblings Jonathan, Jeremiah, Kathy, and Sarah who find out that their mother has a new woman in her life.
When invited to an annual Christmas event, Clarisa tells her four children that she would like to introduce them to her new lover. When the children meet painter Mary, all mouths drop open in what has to be the festival's all time hilarious comedy. The siblings in turn try various ways to break up their mother and her new found love.
The Girlfriend makes audiences laugh as it explores underlying issues of homophobia in even some of the most educated areas of our society.
